<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type liquid crystal display capable of suppressing unnecessary light made incident on a semiconductor substrate side and realizing satisfactory display quality even when pixels are highly densely disposed. <P>SOLUTION: In the reflection type liquid crystal display 100 wherein a semiconductor substrate 1 on which pixel electrodes 11 driven by switching transistors 33 are disposed in a matrix shape and a transparent substrate 13 on which a common transparent electrode is formed are disposed so that the pixel electrodes and the transparent electrode are opposed to each other and a liquid crystal 35 is encapsulated between the semiconductor substrate and the transparent substrate, digging parts 50 are formed between the pixel electrodes and non-conductive light absorption members 23 each having thickness equal to or thicker than the thickness of the pixel electrode are formed in the digging parts. Thereby, unnecessary light made incident on the semiconductor substrate side is suppressed and satisfactory display quality is realized even when the pixels are highly densely disposed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
