<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device low in power consumption and excellent in white balance. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is composed of: a pair of substrates, a plurality of electrodes formed on at least one substrate of the pair of substrates; a liquid crystal panel having a liquid crystal layer held between the pair of substrates; and a light source provided on the rear surface of the liquid crystal panel with respect to an observer. The light source has light emission characteristics assuming chromaticity of warm colors, and the liquid crystal panel has spectrum transmission characteristics assuming chromaticity of cold colors, thereby compensating the color of the light source. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
