摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a quick shift by suppressing a sudden rise of engine speed according to disconnection of an automatic clutch and to prevent deterioration of drivability according to shift such as shift shock at the time of the shift of up-shift, in a power transmission device for a vehicle provided with the automatic clutch. <P>SOLUTION: An engine control device 11 executes an upper limit control for lowering an output of the engine 1 for prescribed time before disconnection of the clutch 3 at the time of the shift of the up-shift. Since the output of the engine 1 is lowered in advance, an sudden rise of speed of the engine 1 is not generated, even if vehicle traveling load disappears due to disconnection of the clutch 3. A target value of the output of the engine 1 to be lowered is properly set according to a driving state of a vehicle.
