HANGER FOR CATHODE PLATE USED FOR ELECTROLYTIC REFINING, AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hanger for a cathode plate capable of reducing a contact resistance between the hanger and a cathode beam, thereby preventing the increase in the voltage in an electrolytic cell and reducing electrolytic power cost, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: In the electrolytic refining method for nonferrous metal, a metal used to the hanger for the cathode plate is sintered at a temperature equivalent to 70 to 95% of the melting point indicated by the absolute temperature of the metal in a nonoxidizing atmosphere, and further, the concentration of oxygen in the nonoxidizing atmosphere is controlled to not higher than the concentration of equilibrium oxygen where the primary oxide of the metal is produced.
