PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paint peeling apparatus which peels paint by generating high-temperature and high-pressure steam and ultrahigh-temperature steam by radio-frequency heating and applying the steam to a painted face to peel off the paint. SOLUTION: High-temperature and high-pressure steam (e.g., about 120°C to 150°C) is generated by radio-frequency heating. Further, the high-temperature and high-pressure steam is reheated by radio-frequency heating to generate ultrahigh-temperature steam having a high calorific value (e.g., about 200°C to 800°C), followed by jetting of the steam to a painted face to peel off the paint. Compressed air is heated (e.g., about 200°C to 800°C) by radio-frequency heating to generate high-pressure compressed air which is then applied to a painted face to peel off the paint. In the paint peeling apparatus, static electricity is applied to high-temperature steam, and ultrahigh-temperature steam is intensively jetted to realize uniform peeling of a local part. Since no peeling material is used, there is no need to conduct treatment of the used peeling material and the cost of the apparatus can be reduced. Water after the peel treatment is evaporated, and solid matter of the coating material is left. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
