PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing method by which soiling of hardly coming out on an exterior building material can be efficiently washed and the soiling can be prevented from sticking thereon at the same time. SOLUTION: In this washing method, the exterior building material covered with the organic matter is irradiated with UV rays with intensity and irradiation energy above a definite degree to remove the soiling stuck on a surface of the exterior building material and thereby the surface is made clean and hard to be stuck with soiling. Especially when UV ray is excimer light, effect is remarkable. Further the soiling can be more efficiently removed by water washing after irradiation of UV rays. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
