Sensor (1), especially an optoelectronic, inductive or magnetic sensor in a sleeve-type housing is attached to a mounting wall with two fastening elements. The first fastening element comprises a profiled washer (11) onto which lugs are attached that fit over the un-threaded smooth parallel sides of the otherwise externally threaded housing. To connect the washer to the sensor it has meshing elements in the side lugs that are pressed into the smooth side walls of the housing. An independent claim is made for a further sensors with a cylindrical sleeve-type housing that has two similar meshing washers that are arranged on either side of a mounting wall and mesh with the thread of the sleeve-type housing.
