<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antireflection coating in which facial homogeneity is high and sufficient antireflection performance and wear resistance performance are compatible and to provide an image display apparatus using the antireflection coating. <P>SOLUTION: The antireflection coating is constituted of a plurality of functional layers having different refractive indexes.
