PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method which improves durability of overwrite recording on a laser annealed magnetic domain wall displacement magneto-optical recording medium. SOLUTION: Predetermined recording signals are recorded by changing the recording power on the test tracks on a magnetic domain wall displacement magneto-optical recording medium and reproduced to obtain the recording power which satisfies the predetermined reproduction quality by comparing with the threshold which indicates the predetermined reproduction quality. Further, the predetermined recording signals are overwritten by using the obtained recording power and reproduced to compare with the above threshold to obtain the recording power right before the quality starts to degrade. The recording power is set so as the power right before the quality starts to degrade or the power nearly equal to becomes the upper limit.
