METHOD FOR MEASURING CARNITINES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the separation of carnitine from other impurities is difficult in a method for measuring carnitine by HPLC because carnitine is seldom held by a reverse fixing phase and meets no other choice than a complicated pretreatment in order to avoid such separation difficulty. SOLUTION: A mobile phase based on water is used in order to hold carnitine being a water soluble component to the fixing phase of HPLC. Since the fixing phase stable in holding time is used even in the mobile phase based on water, carnitine is quantified precisely. Since a separation capacity is improved by this method carnitine is quantified without performing a complicated pretreatment necessary heretofore at all. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
