PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device for suppressing the fluctuation of torque during charging/releasing external load. SOLUTION: A vehicle system has a generation control device for generating and charging a vehicle battery with the drive of a generator which is driven by an internal combustion engine to generate power. Herein, an output torque estimating device and a torque fluctuation estimating device are provided for estimating output torque generated by the internal combustion engine and for estimating torque fluctuation applied to the internal combustion engine with external load, respectively. When the torque fluctuation occurs such that the torque estimated by the torque fluctuation estimating device has a value larger or smaller than the output torque estimated by the output torque estimating device, generation load following generation is controlled by the generation control device.
