PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an exterior finish body capable of being easily manufactured without using any metal mold, easily forming a pattern on the surface of the exterior finish body and, at the same time, thereby an elastic pole excellent in the beautiful appearance. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the exterior finish body 2 of the elastic pole 1, unvulcanized rubber is extruded in the shape of strip from an extrusion molding machine, and while pulling a strip body 9, it is spirally wound on a mandrel 10 having a temperature lower than the extrusion temperature of the strip body 9 to form the unvulcanized exterior finish body 2, vulcanized molding of this is made in a state to form a spiral-shaped projection section 5 on the surface of the exterior finish body.
