POLYMER SYNTHESIS APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for synthesizing a high-quality polymer from a raw material in a molten state. SOLUTION: A lactide sent from a lactide feeder 1 is heated and melted in a lactide-melting apparatus 2, and a catalyst is added to the lactide by a catalyst feeder 3. The molten lactide is supplied to a horizontal reaction tank 5 through a lactide feeder 4 and flows through the reaction tank by utilizing a head difference during progress of polymerization reaction. A discharged reaction liquid is supplied to the upper part of a vertical reaction tank 6 and flows through the tank by utilizing gravity during progress of polymerization reaction. Then, the reaction liquid is sent to a residual lactide-removing apparatus 7 to have unreacted lactide removed and subsequently discharged. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
