PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new hexa-peri-hexabenzocoronene derivative having symmetry similar to that of a meta-substituted benzene and a nanosize structure formed by its self-organization. SOLUTION: This hexa-peri-hexabenzocoronene derivative is represented by formula[1] (R<SP>1</SP>is an alkyl group; R<SP>2</SP>is C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>4</SB>OR<SP>3</SP>or C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>4</SB>OCH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>(OCH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>)nOR<SP>3</SP>(R<SP>3</SP>is hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; (n) is a positive integer); X is a hydrogen atom). The other hexa-peri-hexabenzocoronene derivatives are derived from this compound. The nanosize self-accumulated body is formed in a solution composed of the compound and one or more solvents.
