PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a scribe line on an optional position of a brittle substrate by surely preventing scratches formed on the surface of the brittle substrate by cullet produced in a work for scribing the surface of the brittle substrate such as a glass plate. SOLUTION: The scribe line is formed on the brittle substrate by rotating a winding reel 42 to wind a film F wound by a driven reel 44 while being in close contact with the brittle substrate, running a scribe head 3 and scribing from the upper side of the film F to be wound by a cutter wheel 33.
