PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device that is compact, in which recorded matter can be smoothly carried. SOLUTION: In this recording device 10, subject matter is carried to a recording zone where it is recorded. It is provided with a lower housing 14 having an insertion port 18 to which the subject matter is inserted, and which covers a recording device main body, a housing side guide 800 having a housing side guide surface 802 to support the subject matter to be guided from the insertion port 18 toward the recording range, and which is attached to the lower housing 14, and a main body side guide 900 comprising a recording range side guide surface 902 to support the subject matter to be guided toward the recording range over the housing side guide surface 802, a support surface 906 at lower height than the recording range side guide surface 902 to support the housing side guide surface 802, and a step part 904 of a roughly similar height to the thickness of the housing side guide surface to connect the recording range side guide surface 902 to the support surface 906.
