PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the reaction of a nailing machine in continuous nailing, and further to prevent the occurrence of the dribble in single nailing and the malfunction when an air chuck is connected. SOLUTION: An apparatus for starting the nailing machine is constituted of a continuous nailing lever arranged together with a contact arm so as to carry out a sliding operation, and a lock member which is operated so as to integrally connect the continuous nailing lever with the contact arm by turning a trigger lever. A valve stem is operated so as to be switched-on by integrally connecting the continuous nailing lever with the contact arm through driving the lock member through turning the trigger lever in the continuous nailing mode, and by turning the contact lever via the continuous nailing lever which is lifted through operating the contact arm.
