The conveyor for dynamic storage of empty plastic bottles (G) comprises a conveyor chain (1) between loading (E) and discharge (A) stations. The conveyor is divided in an adjustable fashion into a conveyor section (1a) and an empty return section (1b). The conveyor section is fitted with slides (2) which allow its capacity to be varied. Motors (7, 8) at the stations can be operated at different speeds. Grippers (9) for the bottles are uniformly spaced over the entire length of the conveyor. An independent claim is included for the conveyor chain.
