A demountable folding work surface for fitting onto the side of a furniture unit via a clamping grip (1) has the work surface (30) attached to the grip via a height adjustable hinge (21 to 24) and with the free end supported on a telescopic leg (4). The selected fittings are locked into position to provide a secure work surface. The system can be removed and collapsed for compact transport and storage.
