<p>The invention relates to a large-diameter reel which is designed to receive, for example, a rolled-up rigid or flexible tube. The inventive reel is of the type that comprises a cylindrical barrel element (1) which is bordered on each side by side wheels (3), each of said wheels consisting of a central hub (5), a plurality of spokes (6) and a rim (7). The reel is characterised in that it comprises reinforcing plates (22) which are added between the spokes of the wheel (6) and which have an essentially-trapezoidal shape. The aforementioned plates (22) are equipped with a first bend (24) at the small base (23) thereof and a second bend (26) at the large base (25) thereof. Moreover, the small base (23) of the reinforcing plates (22) is welded to the edge of the cylindrical barrel element (1), while the lateral edges (27) thereof are welded to the spokes of the wheel (6). The plane of the reinforcing plates (22) extends in the plane of the inner edge of the wheel spokes, and the first and second bends (24, 26) in said pates extend outwards.</p> |
