SILL OF DOOR FOR RAILWAY VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sill of a door of a railway vehicle for efficiently blocking the clearance between the vehicle and a platform without increasing the running cost or posing a danger to a passerby.

SOLUTION: The sill of the door is used for the railway vehicle and partially blocks the clearance between the vehicle and the platform. The sill comprises a supporting member 22 connectable with a structure 16 of the railway vehicle and a strip piece 24 held by the supporting member 22. The strip piece 24 can move between a stationary position projected from the supporting member 22 and a position moved back into the supporting member 22. The sill includes means 30A and 30B for clamping the strip piece to at least one of clamping surfaces 30A and 30B of the supporting member, and generates a friction force of a specific value between the strip piece 24 and the supporting member 22 with respect to the movement of the strip piece 24 to the supporting member 22 in the clamping surfaces 30A and 30B.
