PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display controller capable of being mounted irrespective of the direction of a captured image and reducing a processing load of a host, and to provide a display control method. SOLUTION: The display controller 100 comprises a captured image processing unit 110 for performing processing to generate a rotated image in which the direction of the captured image captured by an image capturing unit 10 is rotated around a reference point, and a frame memory 120 for storing display data of one frame of the rotated image data. The display controller 100 reads the display data stored in the frame memory 120 in a predetermined order and supplies the data to a driving unit 20, and outputs the display data stored in the frame memory 120 to the host 40 upon request from the host 40.
