PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of a conventional mouse to prevent reading error of an optical mouse by producing features such as natural color and pattern essentially owned by leather by special processing. SOLUTION: To use a leather or synthetic leather for a mouse pad, a non-homogenous surface is realized by minutely forming a difference in shape, illuminance or reflection enabling the optical mouse to realize stable optical reading on the surface of the leather or synthetic leather by a processing such as painting, shaping or drawing, whereby a mouse pad with a stable optical mouse operating environment can be created. The conventional mouse pad is designed based on a ball type mouse, and mainly adapted to give a friction to roll a mouse ball on the pad. Accordingly, problems in the optical mouse which is going mainstream at present such that the optical reading point of the mouse causes reading error unless the difference in shape, color or illuminance is finely created on the surface fine part, (2) reading error or reading skip is apt to occur since the surface of the conventional mouse pad is created mainly by general printing, or (3) a stable reading operation is difficult can be solved.
