PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a measurement value for applying an FP method to requirement specifications expressed by UML to automatically estimate a software scale. SOLUTION: A class diagram, a use case diagram and a collaboration diagram of the UML are prepared (S1-S5), they are respectively data-expressed (S6), and an internal logic file (ILF) and an external interface file (EIF) of a data function in the FP method are measured from the class diagram (S7). An external input (EI), an external output (EO) and an external query (EQ) of a transaction file in the FP method are measured from the use case diagram (S8), and an FP value of the FP method is found from an data item (DET), a record type (RET) and a related file (FTR) of the ILF, the EIF, the EI, the EO, and the EQ (S9, S10).
