Method for visualizing 2D image data of a hollow channel, especially a blood vessel in which an endoluminal instrument in the vessel is recorded. Position data of the instrument, associated 2D image data and 3D image data relating to the hollow channel are recorded and stored in an image database. If a point in a 3D representation of the data is pointed at by a user, the corresponding spatial coordinates are determined and 2D image data corresponding to the coordinates is called up from the database displayed.
