METHOD FOR ESTIMATING DEVELOPMENT RISK OF HYPERLIPIDEMIA USING HAPLOTYPE IN APOLIPOPROTEIN A5 GENE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating development risk of hyperlipidemia.

SOLUTION: The development risk of hyperlipidemia of a subject is estimated by identifying the haplotype of apolipoprotein A5 gene in a nucleic acid specimen derived from the subject. The estimation method contains a step to identify (a) a nucleotide residue positioned on the upstream side from the translation initiation site by 1131 nucleotides, (b) a nucleotide residue positioned at the 1185th site of the 3rd exon of the gene and (c) a nucleotide residue positioned at the 1891st site of the 3rd exon of the gene.
