PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical semiconductor module, wherein a semiconductor laser element (LD) can operate stably, by arranging a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of the semiconductor laser element (LD) allocated in the optical semiconductor module. SOLUTION: In the optical semiconductor module 10, an optical semiconductor element (semiconductor laser) 13 is mounted on a mounting part 12, which is formed in a carrier base 11 in a projecting shape and used as a heat sink. And moreover, a cap which covers the mounting part 12 is fixed to the carrier base 11. Furthermore, the temperature sensor 15 for detecting the temperature in the optical semiconductor module 10 is arranged in the cap, so that the output of the optical semiconductor element (semiconductor laser) 13 is adjusted, according to the output of the temperature sensor 15.
