摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an organic EL display panel and a thinning method of a glass substrate for the organic EL display panel capable of thinning the glass substrate by immersing it in an etching solution without damaging components of the organic EL display panel by the etching solution; and to provide a glass substrate for an organic EL display panel and an organic EL display using these methods. SOLUTION: A formation such as an organic layer on each glass substrate is disposed on its inside surface; two of the glass substrates are stuck to each other while sealing the circumference of the formation; thereafter the glass substrates are polished by the etching solution; and then the glass substrates are thinned by a process for opening the circumference sealing. For the polishing, a method for mechanically polishing them by using an abrasive can be applied instead of the polishing by the etching solution. The thinning of the glass substrate can be introduced into a manufacturing process of an EL display. An organic EL display panel can be manufactured by using the thinned glass substrate, and this organic EL display can be manufactured by using the manufactured panel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
