PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a chip type fuse to form with high accuracy a narrow fusing portion of the chip type fuse which is relatively lower in rated current value, and to provide the chip type fuse with the narrow fusing portion formed with high accuracy. SOLUTION: In the chip type fuses 10A to 10H, electrodes 12 are provided at both ends of a base board 11, a fusing film 13 is formed so that it may connect the electrodes 12, a means to make an initial resistance value higher to bring beforehand a deviation of a resistance value from a desired internal resistance value close to a predetermined range, namely trimming slots 14A to 14F to make the initial resistance value higher or fusing film removing portions 14G, 14H are formed on the fusing film 13, and the narrow fusing portion 15 is formed by cutting a first and a second trimming slots T1, T2 of an L type.
