Apparatus for eliminating unpleasant odors, bacteria, viruses, molds and other biological materials from the surfaces and environmental air within a refrigerator. It comprises (a) a refrigerator, with temperature controls; (b) a circuit that detects opening of the door and (c), the new feature, an electrical device for generating ozone, at a concentration between specified upper and lower limits.
