The component could be a drinking glass holder or a handle electrically moved into a usable and back into its prior position. The mechanism for a reduction of speed shortly before the item has reached its original position is assembled of a shaft (2) with a curved projection at its outer surface and a housing (1) accommodating the rotating shaft (2) and connected with tappets (7) to the movable component.
