<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of transmitting image data recorded on a memory card via a transmission card, even for a low-cost electronic camera of a small-sized configuration, having only independent slot and no communication function. <P>SOLUTION: When a memory card is installed in a card slot, one or multiple image data in the memory card can be selected, and the selected image data are maintained in an internal memory. Then, if a transmission card is inserted into the card slot, in place of the memory card, the image data maintained are transmitted via the transmission card.
