<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head of an excellent hitting feeling and a high ball hitting angle. <P>SOLUTION: The golf club head 1 is provided with a head body 10, a face plate 40 fixed to the front surface of the head body 10, a weight 50 fixed to the sole part of the head body 10, and an elastic body 30 loaded inside the first recessed part 13 of the head body 10. The elastic body 30 is compressed and tightly adheres to the back surface of the face plate 40. A second recessed part 15 is provided on the upper side of the first recessed part 13, and the elastic body 30 is not loaded in the second recessed part 15.
