PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission operation device equalizing an operating force with regard to various shift operations in a bicycle having a plurality of shift stages. SOLUTION: The operation device 100 has a casing 102 attached to a handle bar M, a cable winding bush 106 capable of changing an angle with a main shaft B as the center, a first driving mechanism 112 acting so as to rotate the bush 106 to a first angle direction, a second driving mechanism 118 acting so as to rotate the bush 106 to a second angle direction opposite to the first angle direction, and positioning means 110, 107, 108, 109, 123, 125 and 127 for holding the bush 106 on a prescribed angle position so as to be released. The positioning means have a first counter means 125 for countering rotation of the bush 106 to the first direction, and a second counter means 127 for countering the rotation of the bush 106 to the second direction, which is formed separately from the first counter means 125.
