PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component having an excellent mountability of a sealing body and a high reliability. SOLUTION: The chip-type aluminum electrolytic capacitor has such a structure that an anode foil connected by an anode lead and a cathode foil connected by a cathode lead are wound together with a separator, a capacitor element 11 impregnated with an electrolyte for driving is housed in a cylindrical metal case 12 having a bottom, an opening of the metal case 12 is sealed by the sealing body 13, and the anode and cathode leads are bent along the outer surface of the sealing body 13. The sealing body 13 is mainly formed of isobuthylene isoprene rubber which is such that a polymer having an unsaturation degree of 1.2-2.5 mol% is crosslinked by alkylphenol formaldehyde resin, includes a reinforcing agent of the same quantity as the isobuthylene isoprene rubber or above, has a 90 Hw or above of Micro-Wallace hardness by International Rubber Hardness Degree (IRHD), and has an elastic modulus of 4N/mm<SP>2</SP>or above at the solder reflow temperature.
