PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a geomagnetic determination method and apparatus using compass, and an azimuth determination method and apparatus using them. SOLUTION: This geomagnetic determination method comprises steps of: setting an allowable range of magnetic field magnitude for determining a valid geomagnetic area; calculating the magnitude of a magnetic field applied to the section of an object of validity determination of geomagnetism by use of a compass; and determining a valid geomagnetic area in case that the calculated magnitude of magnetic field is within the allowable range, and determining application of disturbance magnetism in case that the calculated magnitude of magnetic field is out of the allowable range.
