PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit the vibration effectively at a low cost to the vibration source which causes the cyclic vibration in the different frequency from the resonance frequency of a building or a facility like the jumping of all audience and a rotary press. SOLUTION: It is a damping unit 1 arranged close to the vibration source B which vibrates in the vibration frequency of a prescribed range and equips with a vibration system which includes the mass element and the elastic element having a resonance point almost within the range of vibration frequency. The unit 1 has a vibration sensor 8 which detects the vibration of the vibration source B in addition to the vibration exciter which vibrates the vibration system toward top and bottom, the phase selection means 24 which selects the vibration phase of the vibration source B detected by the vibration sensor 8, the frequency selection means 24 which selects the vibration frequency of the vibration source B detected by the vibration sensor 8, and the control means 26 to adjust the frequency and the phase of the vibration exciter so that the vibration of the vibration system becomes the same frequency as the selected frequency by the frequency selection means 24 and the reverse phase to the selected phase by the frequency selection means 24.
