PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aliphatic or alicyclic polyester by which the high-molecular weight aliphatic or alicyclic polyester having good hue can be continuously and stably produced. SOLUTION: The method for continuously producing the aliphatic or alicyclic polyester having≥2.1 dl/g reduced viscosity (ηsp/c) involves carrying out a polycondensation reaction by using a horizontal type reversely rotating twin-screw polymerization vessel while stirring the polyester at the peripheral speed of stirring blades successively installed on the rotary shafts of the twin screw, regulated so as to be 3-26 m/min.
