PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To interrupt or continue printing output while ensuring a satisfactory stack condition when outputting a paper sheet folded into Z shape onto a tray. SOLUTION: This paper handling device has a plurality of external trays capable of conveying and stacking paper sheets delivered from an image outputting device and a control means for controlling delivery of the paper sheets. The external tray includes a tray provided with a monitoring means for stacking the paper sheets folded into Z shape and monitoring a stacked condition of the paper sheets folded into Z shape and a tray without the monitoring means. The control means does not output the paper sheet folded into Z shape onto the tray without the monitoring means. This device determines whether paper delivery mode is mode including Z-folding or not (S101), selects all of an upper paper delivery tray and a lower paper delivery tray as delivery destination when the paper delivery mode is mode including not Z-folding (step S102), and allows delivery onto only the lower paper delivery tray having the monitoring means when the paper delivery mode is mode including Z-folding.
