PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a ring with a projection in the inner periphery with which a production facility is simple and the facility cost is low and a production process is of simple, high yield and high productivity and reduction of the production cost is attained. SOLUTION: A hollow metal tube is used as a blank, and after inserting this blank into a cylinder-shaped outer diameter restriction metallic mold 40, restricting this outer peripheral shape, this blank is forged in the axial direction of the blank with a forging apparatus fitted with an upper die 20 and a lower die 30 where projecting parts 21, 31 having smaller diameter than the diameter of a columnar part are arranged and the central part of the blank is projected to the inside of the diameter direction to produce the ring 10 with the inner peripheral projection.
