The prosthesis (1) consists of false teeth (4,4') with the roots (5) of each tooth (2) fixed in upper (14) and lower (15) jaw plates which may be made of a plastics material (6,6'). The teeth are shaped to form incisors (7) and molars (8) and premolars (9). Intensive ultrasonic cleaning is used and a visual inspection is carried out for porosity of the plastics material and for cracks in the teeth. The occlusal surfaces of the teeth (3) may be checked. A load-based control of the cleaning process may be used and written and graphical records are kept by the dentist and sent to the patient.
