<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformalize the steam pressure in air electrode separators in fuel cells of a fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: On the air electrode separators 8, 14 of an adjacent pair of the fuel cells 2A, 2B in the stacking direction, air electrode gas flow grooves 8A, 14A to supply an air electrode gas are formed. In the air electrode gas flow grooves 8A, 14A, a plurality of steam passing holes 8C, 14C are formed. The air electrode separators 8, 14 are disposed such that they interpose a steam permeable membrane 15 to selectively permeate steam so as to mutually give and take steam.
