<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell power generating device enhancing durability by suppressing deterioration caused by oxidation and dissolution by potential rising of a cathode and an anode at starting stopping, and to provide its operation method. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell system is equipped with a fuel cell 5 comprising an electrolyte 1, a pair of electrodes 4a, 4c, and a pair of separators 7a, 7c, and oxidant gas and fuel gas are sealed in the fuel cell 5, and when the operation of the fuel cell is stopped, the potential of the electrode for replacing the oxidant gas and the fuel gas in the sealed part with inert gas is kept low, and thereby, deterioration caused by oxidation and dissolution is suppressed and the durability of the fuel cell system is enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
