<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator performing non-contact detection of food information while saving on a space and electric power. <P>SOLUTION: An inner case 32 is fixed to a wall face of a chill room 2, and an antenna coil of a reader/writer is accommodated in the inner case 32. The antenna coil detects the food information from an IC tag 35 of the food A in a non-contact state, and a receiving area 45 of the antenna coil is determined at a part of a port opening of the chill room 2. In this constitution, as the food information is detected in taking in and out the food A to the chill room 2 through the transmitting/receiving area 45, a large antenna coil of large output covering the whole chill room 2 becomes unnecessary.
