PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving a pentane-blown foam suppressing smoke generation in burning of the foam. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for improving pentane-blown foam which is obtained by using one or more kind of pentanes, comprising incorporating into the foam composition trans-1,2-dichlorethylene in an amount effective to suppress the smoke generation of the blown foam. The pentane preferably used in the method comprises n-pentane, iso-pentane, a mixture of n-pentane and iso-pentane, cyclopentane and a mixture of cyclopentane and iso-pentane. The foaming resin preferably used in the method comprises a polyisocyanate, a polyol, one or more kind of pentanes and the trans-1,2-dichlorethylene in an amount effective to suppress the smoke generation of the blown foam.
