PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post development processing method capable of improving the performance of a processing using a printing plate protecting agent and reducing the number of imperfect sheets on starting printing when performing a platemaking and a printing by using a polymerizable photosensitive planographic printing plate, and to provide a printing plate protecting agent used for the post development processing method. SOLUTION: After a photosensitive planographic printing plate having a photopolymerizable photosensitive layer containing a polymerizable ethylenic double bond-containing compound, a photopolymerization initiator and a polymer binder on an aluminum plate supporting body is subjected to image exposure and development, the plate is treated with a printing plate protecting agent containing an alkyldiphenylether disulfonic acid salt and an alkyldiphenylether monosulfonic acid salt.
