PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction system of a standby power not needing a large consumed current unlike a broadband wireless communication apparatus of systems of prior arts in the standby state in a broadband wireless communication system for carrying out transmission/reception of video audio signal data. SOLUTION: In wireless communication apparatuses for mainly transmitting/receiving digitally modulated data of a video and audio signal between a sender 1 and a recipient 6 through broadband wireless communication, each wireless communication apparatus is provided with two systems of data communication means comprising: broadband wireless communication sections 3, 7 for communicating video audio signal data; and narrow band wireless communication sections 4, 8 for carrying out control signal data communication for controlling the broadband wireless communication sections 3, 7, and the narrow band wireless communication sections 4, 8 are brought into an ON state and control instruction data transmitted to the narrow band wireless communication sections 4, 8 control the operating state including ON/OFF of the broadband wireless communication sections 3, 7.
