Disclosed are a method for manufacturing an ingestible, highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution and a calcium ion beverage based on the calcium solution, which is preceded by the finding that that calcium shows the highest uptake in the body when it is ionized. The ingestible highly concentrated aqueous calcium ion solution is produced from calcium-containing mineral materials or shells of oysters, clams, eggs and like, and the calcium ion beverage can sufficiently supplement calcium for the body at a high rate of uptake, thus promoting the metabolism and physiological function of cells and preventing various diseases caused by a lack of calcium, including osteoporosis, coronary sclerosis, hypertension and the like. |
