HIGH-STRENGTH, HIGH-ANTI-WEAR DIAMOND SINTERED COMPACT, TOOL MADE OF THE SAME AND METHOD FOR CUTTING NON-FERROUS METAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamond sintered compact which is excellent in resistance to wear, chipping resistance, impact resistance and thermal conductivity.

SOLUTION: The diamond sintered compact contains a sintered diamond particle and the balance being a sintering aid, wherein the sintered diamond particle content is 80 vol.% or higher but smaller than 99 vol.% and the particle size of the sintered diamond particle is within the range of 0.1-70 μm. Adjacent sintered diamond particles are directly bound to each other. The sintering aid contains tungsten and at least one chosen from the group consisting of iron, cobalt and nickel. The proportion of tungsten in the sintered compact is 0.01-8 wt.%.
