<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the power consumption of an electric water pump that circulates cooling water, while keeping on cooling a motor and inverters mounted on an electric vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This thermoregulator is provided with the electric water pump that circulates the cooling water into cooling water paths formed in the motor and the inverters and into circulating pipelines that form circuits, and a radiator that cools the cooling water by open air. Also, a temperature sensor is provided that detects the temperature of the cooling water. The water pump is driven and controlled by setting up a target flow rate Q* so as to circulate the cooling water in a turbulent flow zone, when the temperature of the cooling water (cooling water temperature Tw) detected by the temperature sensor exceeds a prescribed temperature TO, and in a laminar flow zone, and when the cooling water temperature Tw becomes less than the prescribed temperature TO, the water pump is driven and controlled by setting up a target flow rate Q* so as to circulate the cooling water in the laminar flow zone. The circulation of the cooling water in the laminar flow zone where flow rate resistance lessens when the cooling water temperature Tw is less than the prescribed temperature TO makes it possible to suppress the power consumption of the water pump. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
